If I really needed you to give me something and had been after you to do so for over a week
Would it be wise to call you names and insult you right before you gave me what I needed? IMO Peloisi may be an Intelligent person but she doesn't have one lick of common sense. That Speech she gave immediately preceding the vote was just plain stupid. It served absolutely zero purpose but to anger those she needed votes from. I have noticed how tone deaf Peloisi is for many years now but yesterday really topped it. For those Republicans to have voted with the Democrats after Peloisi's speech they would have basically had to say everything they ever did was wrong. While that indeed may be fact, trying to get them to openly admit it right before a needed vote was not wise to put it mildly.

2. Sometimes the TRUTH lands on both sides of the aisle.
Peloisi is and has been a disgrace.

8. the TRUTH you're spilling is that somehow Pelosi's speech changed votes due to spite
I somehow doubt that's anywhere near the truth. and if it IS, the people to blame are the crybabies who voted their pique instead of their constituency.

I reject your TRUTH, in this instance.

which is not to say I"m the biggest Pelosi fan, cause I'm definitely not.

but what you're spewing is the right wing talking point memo of the day, don't believe it.

3. It's BS. The Repugs never planned to vote for this
they were just looking for an excuse
this excuse is pretty lame, as far as excuses go. Its funny they kind of dropped it after that... they must realize its a loser.

4. I am in no way trying to excuse Republican actions
I am completely speaking of the wisdom of Peloisi. I am and have been for years now disgusted by her.

7. I was thinking that too!
It was interesting that neither she, nor Frank, Rahm, or Hoyer looked upset during the press briefing yesterday afternoon.

Ooooo--WEEEE---ooooo!

6. As Barney Frank said on Sep 25 when Rep. Spencer Bachus (R-Ala.) walked out of the talks in a huff,
"We don't take this kind of thing personally here."

As it should be.

10. I Was Thinking the Same Thing
It may be a tradition for congressmen to give partisan speeches about whatever bill they're going to vote on. It could be that no one pays attention unless they are looking for an excuse. But this would be a time to tread lightly.
