Before the wingers try to frame Palin's debate performance as a success...
Edited on Tue Sep-30-08 06:23 AM by WritersBlock

We need to be blunt and tell it like it is, repeatedly:

Her incompetence is a threat to national security, because neither Putin or Ahmadinejad will lower the bar for her.

The McCain campaign has stepped in to limit the format of the vice-presidential debates because poor widdle Sarah Palin is afraid to face Joe Biden.

We're supposed to cut her a break because she's "a relatively inexperienced debater" and facing Biden on the same terms that McCain will face Obama would put her "at a disadvantage and largely on the defensive."

Awwwww. Bless.

This is not playgroup, people. She's a grown woman, and she's out in the big bad world now.

We can't afford to have a vice-president who is so fragile that she needs protection from something as minor as a televised debate.

Sarah Palin wants to be one 72-year-old-melanoma-battered heartbeat away from the presidency, and expects us to rely on her to deal with Putin when she's too afraid to even face Biden?

Edit: clarity & emphasis ;)

1. They have lowered the bar so low that if she pronounce and correctly
They will be able to declare her a winner.

2. Yep, which is precisely why we must keep hammering away at the fact that they were forced to lower

that bar to compensate for her deficiencies, but that expecting her to get the same pass from Putin or Ahmadinejad is ludicrous and puts our national security at risk.

We need to keep saying this, over and over again.

3. my question is....
To whom do we write to to have them bring the debate format back to a debate and not a Q&A for Gov. Palin?

The people have a voice and she should engage in debate and conversation.

4. The Commission on Presidential Debates

info@debates.org

or the debate sponsors:

Anheuser-Busch Companies
BBH New York
The Howard G. Buffet Foundation
Sheldon S. Cohen, Esq.
EDS, an HP Company
International Bottled Water Association
The Kovler Fund
Kaiser Family Foundation
YWCA USA

But I doubt it would do any good to contact any of them. So what we have to do is be ready.

Every single time someone says she did a good job, I intend to hit right back with the fact that they lowered the bar for her to debate Biden, but leaders of potentially hostile regimes are not known for lowering the bar. If she can't face Biden in a fair debate, she can't face Putin - and that puts our national security at risk.

Assuming she doesn't have a personal crisis of some sort to have to deal with at the last moment, that is. :eyes:
