Has anyone heard anything regarding B of A closing it's CC center on Oct 6th? I read this earlier and can't find the link. Thanks in advance..

I got an offer from WaMu for a CC just yesterday... after WaMu went belly up the day before. All doors are still open here in this area also. As to B of A, I read this article this morning and distinctly remember the Oct 6th date (next Monday) I THINK I read it here! Just wondered if anyone else had heard this. Makes me wonder how the CCs are gonna play out all over, with these buy outs and over-unders going on. Thanks

I work for a Credit Card company, and we have about 14 - and some of those are still in America!

The TV commercials for investors, lenders, and credit cards go on, unabated.

The mailbox continues to fill up with credit card applications.

The only thing that will happen to credit cards is this: they're going to start cutting some of the limits of existing cardholders, and the cardholders will not know until it is done. They'll suddenly find out their limit is $1500, instead of $2500, in the future.

6. When credit card limits go down, credit scores go down...

Those who think they have a 750+ score will find that it has been reduced.

Part of your score is the ratio of your debt to your limit.

2500 debt to 25000 limit equal 10%. Cut the limit to 5000 and now your debt is 50%. Your rating plummets.

When your rating goes down, you have a harder time getting ANY kind of loan. College, auto, home, business.

You're S-O-L.
