Any Hope Financial Realities Will Make People Reassess The Realities of Republicanism & Religion?
This meltdown will cause many to re-evaluate their beliefs. Belief in the markets and belief in Republican philosophy. Might we be so lucky that it will also extend to the world's favorite "take it on faith" fantasy, religion?

That could be a real upside to this meltdown. Church attendance fell off during the Great Depression, even as clergy averred it would rise as people sought solace for their woes. They then predicted a resurgence in religion would take place after the Depression ended, but it kicked up a measly 5%.

There could be a silver lining to this cloud.

Reminder: Bill Maher's anti-religion film opens this week.

1. Reaganism is dead and the unfettered free market is dead.
