It just struck me. Our House leaders did their job.
This failed bill was branded in the public mindset as the "Bush Bailout Bill".

That was what we needed, and that was what they delivered.Go team.

1. That's BS..the Democrats might have called it the Bush Bailout Bill, but they worked like
yeomen to get it passed and they were carrying the Shrub's water ... It looks like they failed.

3. I disagree with you and that is rare
I think the Dems knew from last night that this was not passing. The Rethugs sank their own President - that's bloody perfect.

6. Bingo
The Democrats luke-warmly supported a bill and happily allowed the GOP (in one of its vanishingly few moments of honesty) to kill the bill. Damage done. Point made. We won here, and we prevented a horrible bill from passing.

10. Spot on
At the end of the day Bush, his neo-cons, the rubber-stamp Rethugs in Congress, their non-stop wars, tax breaks for the rich and deregulation have come home to roost. Bush and Cheney have been the biggest catastrophe in history.

9. I know it's rare that we disagree...but please examine your own words
The Rethugs sank their own President... they might go back to their districts wearing it like a badge of honor that they are independent of him.... they want as much distance from him as possible to become re-elected.

12. Unless of course we experience the immediate melt down they were promising us
then people in their districts will be screaming at them to do something.

14. Too late for that
They and their voters were all Kool_Aid drinking Bushies. They are now angry and confused.

17. they sunk their own president, and they will try and use it for political gain
i dont see why your opinion and his dont work together. He said they sank their own president ,and i think that is precisely because they want to wear it back to the districts like a badge of honor, they sank him because they want to get away from him

7. Yes I give them credit for that and now they should brand the House and Senate
...republicans along with McCain/Palin for failing Main Street Americans by not coming up with anything that would protect them, no surtax on stock trades that would make Wall Street pay for the mess they created, no compromise on CEO golden parachutes, no oversight, no regulations to prevent this from continuing, just more rising flood tsunami bailouts for the wealthy Wall Street speculators and war profiteers.

11. How did you lose money?
Were you valuing securities at something different than the sale price at the time you sold them?

15. I don't understand
The house's job is to ensure that the market goes up the last Monday of every month? That it goes up every day? That you make money in the market on Mondays? That you make money in the market today?

Sorry, but none of those are their job.

18. More importantly Bush, Cheney and McPOW were caught by
their own arrogance. McPOW was caught in suspended animation when he headed to Washington assuming that Obama would follow his lead. The only reason McPOW and Romney could have come out this morning and claim that McPOW was the leader who had made this possible was a stupid gamble that once they did that Obama would want to claim victory and make Dems all vote for this leaving them with the blame when Rethugs pulled the plug.

They were caught with their pants down. Obama plays better chess.
