7. Which kinda sucks.
Fortis bank got bailed out (no-one knows why), but they recently acquired the ABN/Amro bank for 24 billion. Now they get a 10 billion bail out. So now our taxpayer money is going down the drain here as well. People don't have a clue what's going on, but we're sure that alle the trouble started in the US.
Although personally I think the Euro has something to do with it, too.

8. European banks are much worse off
The US banks and Wall Street started looking at all the subprime stuff on their books months ago. The Europeans have yet to do so. The pain in Europe will be IMO more severe than in the US, especially given the fact that the Europeans have yet to confront the monster...

The positive effect of the bailout was factored in already last week; now it's time to sell. Easy bucks / Euros.

AND THE GOP WANTS TO ELIMINATE CAPITAL GAINS TAX??? They're fucking insane!
