1. This is one of the few good things I've read today!
Congrats to America - we just might have a decent President for the first time in almost a decade come January 2009! :)

9. You can atone for your cynicism by doing the following:
Fix your apostrophe-related typo.

3. And this doesn't even include a post-debate bump.
Gallup says the full effect of the debate won't show in this rolling poll until Tuesday. So look forward to seeing Obama break into the low 50s -- at least.

4. Wouldn't it be statistically impossible for Repubs to steal election
with Obama at 50%? I'm thinking that the elctoral votes would have to favor him with 50%. Yes? No?

6. it depends on the MARGIN, not the number alone
because if McCain has 48 percent, they could steal the election. They could steal one state, like Ohio and if Obama should have lost Colorado and Florida too, he's lost the election. If its a 50-42 election, much different story. Although if one wins the popular vote, the likelihood of winning the election is all the way at 93%. Only 4 elections out of 55 (or 3 out of 45 since 1828 when pop vote first became widespread) have been won with less than a plurality of the national popular vote, meaning that in both scenarios, if you lose the popular vote, you only have a 7% chance of winning the election. Also, each time a pop vote winner has lost the election, there have been dubious circumstances, like in 1824 where John Q. Adams stole it in his corrupt bargain with Henry Clay, Hayes stole Florida in 1876, Benjamin Harrison stole New York in 1888, and of course, George Dubya Bush stole Florida in 2000 as we all know too well.

7. Doesn't matter
I think they will try to steal even if Obama is ahead by 10 points. They will just have to work harder quelling the uprising(s). The very reason they are already training troops at home right now. They have way too much to lose and will go to ANY length to keep their crimes out of the courts.

15. What state are they going to steal? we threw their asses out of state houses en masse in '06
Democrats control the state governments of almost all of the crucial states, except Florida. And if Florida is close enough that they have to steal it then McSame has already lost.

8. That Spoonamore guy has it in the bag already.
Even a blow out by Obama gives us a McCain Presidency.

The real question is will Obama challenge it this time around?

13. 50%? Has anyone stopped to consider that may be a load of bovine manure?
If that is the case, where are all the McCain/Palin yard signs, compared to Obama/Biden yard signs?
70% I would believe. 80% I would believe also. 50%, no, I do not believe that. It is part of the attempt to make people think this is close. No people, it is not close. Not at all.
