When Obama wins will we be able to rest for awhile or will the battle just begin?
I've spent about a decade following politics and trying to be as informed as possible. Along the way I've tried to convince people who weren't political to take up a cause or simply care about what is going on. However it's been 8 years later and with the biggest election of my lifetime just months away, what happens when Obama wins? Can i take my eye off the issues or has the battle just begun?

Is anyone else thinking this way or am i the only one? Just because a Democrat will be in office should i be any less active with politics?

7. You're both right.
There will always be people who are in need of support. Whether it's for healthcare reform, human rights, war and others.

...the administration of Preznit Fuckstick and Shitstain Shoots-Guy-In-Face have left the tools to negate any pardon.

be active. We will be fighting for something though and not just to try to stop things from happening. It's our election and we if we win we will be needed to bring along the doubters.

8. Remember how they were with Carter and Clinton
They'll be on Obama like a chicken on a june bug as soon as he is elected. Obama will get no help whatsoever from the re:puke:s just like with Carter and Clinton. Thats how the gop works and thats how this will be played out. Remember the good that Carter and Clinton did accomplish anyway in spite of them so as to encourage you in knowing that all is not left. But it will be an uphill battle for Obama all the way. I think we can count on that to be true.

This time, part of our task is to bring the battle to defend President Obama.

Sadly, during President Clinton's term, the rethugs were able to control the conversation, and spew an endless amount of lies (Vince Foster Murder, Ron Brown Murder, Whitewater, Rose Law Firm, FBI Files, etc).

We need to neuter the rethuglican hordes before they get outta the gate. Don't let them get away with the mindless jingoistic crap, and start going after their Sacred Cows in the process.

17. Yes, plus this time we have a person, Obama, who doesn't seem to like to take shit from anyone
Carter and Clinton seemed to think that they could ignore them or something where as Obama seems be more of a get in their faces type person. I love him

9. The battle will begin,
I have no doubt the Reptilians will try to do everything possible to sabotage Obama's Presidency. Fortunately we should pick up more seats in both chambers to make it that much harder for them to do that but it won't keep them from trying.

15. Politics is like farming. With hard work and a little luck you can harvest a good crop,
or in politics, you you can bring about positive changes.

If you stop working the fields and caring for the soil, eventually, the yields plunge.

Same in politics. We already got Social Security passed under FDR, yet we have to continue to work politically to keep it.

I have never viewed Obama as a savior but rather as an opportunity.

An Obama win represents potential. It doesn't actualize anything else beyond that.

So take a week off and then get back to work! :)

16. Sadly there will be no rest
Obama would need to win all 50 states and then some before the Repukes would even think of respect and cooperation. Look at McCain's attitude already.

All the rhetoric of 2000 about supporting the President will be tossed out in favor of a disloyal opposition strategy. Clinton had a honeymoon that lasted about a week. They will be on Obama starting Nov. 5.
