Shares of Wachovia Corp. dropped Friday evening following reports that the company is in merger talks with a few suitors, including Citigroup Inc., raising the prospect that a transaction could add to the list of sweeping shifts that have reshaped Wall Street.

Wachovia Corp. shares fell 12% to $8.75 after a New York Times report that the company is in early discussions with Citigroup. A deal is not guaranteed to emerge from the talks, noted the report.

1. Wow, another one. That's my bank
and it's always been the big "buyer". When is a bank too big? Was WaMu too big? (asked by someone who knows as much about banking as Sarah Palin knows about Russia).

3. If you know as much
about banking as Sarah Palin knows about Russia, that would mean that you cannot use an ATM, can't fill out a check, much less balance the account and it probably means you can't read the sign out front further than "B-a-n".

So I'm guessing you know way more about banking than Sarah Palin knows about Russia.

2. How soon before there is one giant U.S. financial institution?
