9. Hey You
:hi:

How are you doing? I heard that you moved to Maryland. I had a job up in Aberdeen, Md in July, I loved it up there. I might be going back later this month for another job. How do you guys like it up there so far?

10. Yep
We're fine. Still settling in and at least once a week we're reminded that we're not in Kansas anymore.

fwiw, we're on the other side of Baltimore (Rockville, MD) and nearer to the belly of the beast. It is so different. The adjustment is still of a bit of a shock. I'm used to my laid back, hippieville where people talk about politics. Here, people seem to be in a hurry to get nowhere. I've given up asking directions or where things are (thank gawd we have google). There are some great restaurants and we've made some really good friends. We've also been meeting some of the people whose blogs we read and reference here on DU. Even better, most of them have become friends.

The best thing has been the weather. Compared to Kansas this place is a breeze. We kept being told how hot and humid it gets here. We thought it was like spring. The other day when I picked up the Admiral the radio announced it was the beginning of fall. We looked at each other and talked about how we were going to have to get used to having two and a half seasons (spring, fall and what passes for winter here). The dogs are groovig n on it. They haven't spent this much time outside before. It's always gotten too hot or cold for weeks at a time before. Here, the first thing they did was shed their winter coats and we moved here in January.

Let me know when you're in the area again. Maybe we can hook up. I'll PM you our home number.

4. Isn't it a conflict of interest for McCain to be working on a bailout? ...
It seems to me that it would be since between the son and staff members and adviser (like Gramm) he's in pretty deep with all this.

8. His son quit 1-2 months ago. It was reported here at the time
IIRC, people here questioned if his resignation was a sign of financial troubles for the bank. Then the bank file bankruptcy about a month later and that was also reported in a separate story here. I just think it's about damn time the MSM started reporting on these things. However, I also find myself wondering if the MSM is just doing this because the McCain camp has pissed them off with the Palin snub? What ever the MSM reason for finally getting this out.. it's a good thing.
