Palin: dumber than Bush?
I just watched some of the Couric interview. Yeesh! It was evident that Palin barely understood the questions, and even when they were explained she seemed unable to formulate a coherent (much less informed) answer. No wonder they're hiding her--she's a moron.

2. I think it would be a mistake to underestimate her intelligence
perhaps she is not wise in the ways of Washington.

But I think she will quickly learn in Cheney's mode-of-operation. When she finds out what she will have access to via CIA/FBI/NSA, watch out.

7. I'm not saying she's without a certain animal cunning.
No doubt she has a robust survival instinct. And she's definitely every bit as scary as Cheney: worse, in some ways, because I don't think she'd hesitate to turn the country into a full-fledged fascist dictatorship given half a chance, and she's too dumb to understand why that would be a bad idea. I'm saying that the woman clearly doesn't understand basic concepts: she doesn't know what "conflict of interest" means. Trust me, she's a moron.

10. Sure, the GOP are akin to hynenas (scavengers - opportunists - low gutter fighters) ...

but they are no match for the cool cunning and team work of a Lion Pride (Obama's team and loyal supporters).

19. Oh, she's worse than Cheney, for a different reason...
Cheney and Chimpy use people like Falin Palin to get power, the fundies...

The problem with Palin is she really BELIEVES that shit...end times and everything...That is what makes her scary

20. I don't think it is her intelligence
I also think that comparing her to Cheney is off base. She does possess his disdain for the rules, but she is nowhere near as intelligent and skilled as Cheney. She is ambitious and ruthless, but not smart. She is Bush's brain power with Cheney's ambition. Cheney knew what he was doing all these years. He knows the ins and outs of the system, is schooled in foreign affairs, and understands economics. He is an ideologue and does not care about advancing anything except his agenda and that of his business partners. Cheney I am sure could handle his own with any world leader. Palin would be chewed up and spit out by Chavez, or Ahmadinejad.

The scary thing about Palin is how pliable she is. She is being handled by McCain's campaign staff like a puppet or the monkey standing by the grinder organ. What we need to keep from underestimating is strength of the political machine that is running both candidates like marionettes.

11. She's ignorant - not stupid.
She knows that there are things she doesn't know, and she talks around those issues. But, we can't afford that much ignorance in a VP.

13. I do not think she is dumber than Bush...
Bush, as embarrassing as he is to watch, is getting worse.

As for Palin - She is way out of her league

They pulled her from the minors and she isn't close to being ready

They are the ones who are spending the most face time with her and realize she's not up to it, but they have to send her out there anyway.

14. She has that really toxic combination of stupidity, narcissism, and cunning.
You would have to have all 3 traits in insanely large amounts, in order to possess such limited-to-nonexistent talents yet still believe you deserve the kind of power she is aspiring to.

This is the kind of person who creates problems when they succeed in stomping up the ladder to become manager of a Jiffy Lube, which is why anyone who's ever worked with or for this personality type shudders at the idea of her in the White House.

Since the GOP's evangelical base doesn't believe a woman should be the head of a household much less a nation, it is possible Rove & Co. even consider her obvious lack of intellect to be a plus. This way she's not threatening the way a smart woman might be. The base is reassured that behind the "feisty 'lil woman" the real powers that be will still be running the show.

If she had just been a little bit better looking, she might have found success modeling knit sportswear for the Sears catalogue instead of becoming the most frightening potential U.S. president outside a Stephen King novel.

15. I fear she might be.
She is not as 'worldly', at any rate. I can't imagine her actually being dumber than Bush. I would like to have seen her score on a geography test before they chose her as VP candidiate. "As in South Africa like........................."

18. not necessarily dumb
ignorant is more like it. She is ignorant of the things she needs to know to even think about running for mayor of a mid sized city, let alone POTUS. She hasn't bothered to learn anything about government, the economy and world affairs and it really shows.

21. I'll go you one further: ignorant and incurious about things around her
Which means she'll remain ignorant. The comparisons to Bush are dead-on accurate, because it was those two qualities that made him such a worthless POS. It's an attitude that allows one to rest on their ideology, confident that whatever actual intelligence or cleverness the person possesses will allow the person to find the right spin for things, regardless of actual facts.
