We live in a country with a closely divided electorate. That means that the election in some states will be fucking close. Get it? This is true of states that went both red and blue last time around. Why is PA close? Well, why is CO close? Why is OH close? Well, why is VA close?

They're close because they're fucking close, chief. Get it? It's going to be close.

Now, I know in your pea-brain, you think the election shouldn't be close, that Obama should be leading by 8%, 12%, 20% in all the blue states, and 5% in all the battleground red states, that "all the conditions" suggest blah blah blah, and whatever other nonsenses you believe. Let me say this clearly: wake the fuck up. Shit don't work that way.

4. The media has us all convinced that Obama should just have everything locked up, that

he should be 10 or 20 points ahead. What country do they think we live in? There are a lot of Republicans. There are a lot of anti-abortion nuts, anti-tax nuts, religious nuts, military-might nuts, gun nuts. There is an entire vast network of Republican propaganda that's spewed all day long on talk radio--almost nothing from the Dem point of view, in many regions of the country. And Obama is black, and rumored to be Muslim--and yes, it may not be a major factor, but it's at least a minor one that's good for a few points less. He has run a near-perfect campaign, but if the electorate does not ultimately want to buy the dog food, then they won't--they'll take the McFailin' shit sandwich instead. That's life, deal with it.

trashed Gore for supposedly losing an election that should have been a landslide victory.
How can this race be even close? The economy is doing fine Clinton's job approval is high Bush is an idiot yadda yadda yadda.

They just didn't get it. About 50% of the electorate had become culture war morons and Clinton's daliance certainly didn't help.
