I think the extreme right GOP is so boxed in by their political meanness that the treasury takeover turns into a fascist coup by default... and they will take advantage of it because there is no will or backbone in the Congress to stand up to that mean misguided political and economic philosophy.

That philosophy is the one that says it's wrong or controversial to pass bills that are pro people, and the only right thing to do is to help business and financial institutions. This philosophy wouldn't be quite so bad if everyone were honest and human in their dealings, but as one pundit put it, it's like making the American financial system one big casino and giving everyone carte blanche and a blank check to do whatever they want there.
