At the very least, Democrats should insist that those people holding high
positions in the companies that are being bailed out be barred from serving on the board or in even the minimalist management position on any financial institution of any size in any place in the US.

Also, if these fuckers skirt the law and get hired by an off shore bank, that bank would be barred from operating in or around any territories, states or holding of the US.

Period, if they don't do at least this, at least inflict some pain and suffering on these fucking incompetent ass holes, then I, and I am sure millions of others, would refuse to deal with any financial institution in the US.

If the democratic party can't even inject something as simple as this into the measure before congress, then I will finally loose all faith in the party that I have believed with all my heart, always had the best interests of the common folk in mind, at least some of the time.

1. Rule 1. The officers of the company pay back their last 5 years pay.....
they then get an annual pay of 10-20 times the average workers pay for the last 5 years.
2. They must also tender their resignations
3. They cannot send any more jobs overseas and have to stop ALL jobs currently ongoing overseas. Put Americans back to work.
4. They open their books to congress.
5. They turn over 49% of their business to the United States
6. They apologize in public and in writing to having caused this horrible situation they have created.
7. ALL mortgages interest rates will be dropped to PRIME - 2%
8. Lobbyists for all of these companies have to be FIRED IMMEDIATELY and ALL the money they "earned" will be paid back to the people of America.
9. Like any bad loans that "normal" people have, if the US cannot sell the properties for what is owed on them, then those companies have to pay the difference!
10. Make all officers of these companies spend 200 hours a year working in food banks and soup lines so they can see what hell they have created.

Any others. DId I miss anything?

3. They should not be allowed
to own more than 1 modest home and more than 1 average car. The sale of their additional homes and cars should go towards the bailout.

Yes, yes, I know the whole point of corporations is the whole limited liability thing but, as far as I'm concerned, limited liability is a "regulation" and since they were all against regulation, they gave that up.

2. These measures sound pretty strict...
But I agree, under the current circumstances, they are warranted.

Good luck getting them implemented, though...

4. Ain't gonna happen.
I'd also like to see the same people forfeit their "severance" packages and perks, but, it ain't gonna happen. Nothing is going to happen to them

I'm with you 100% on your last paragraph.

6. For thirty-five years, ever since I got involved as a 15 year old in
local politics, I have been a loyal democrat. I now consider if my loyalty has been misplaced, abused, taken for granted.

I am stunned by the lack of outrage from the party leadership.

7. I used to lose sleep about Diebold and vote caging.
Then it dawned on me that I wasn't hearing any kind of an outcry from the party leadership. I'm with you...I don't get it. Make no mistake, I will always vote for the Democrat; nothing will change that. But I'm not happy. I feel really let down.

8. the democrats are actig like a battered spouse.
They know this is wrong, that the denial has to stop...

But every time they try to do something, everything seems to backfire, fold back in on itself, deflate the spirit...
