I'm going to the march Saturday
I'll be there, as always, with my wife of 27 years. We live on the outskirts of town, so it's real easy to get down there . . . no real effort involved except pulling myself out of the house after working all night. I've been a city protester since the old smoke-ins, and the ERA and No Nukes rallies. (remember grooving on 'boogie till you puke' after the smoke-in back then?)

I saw the post on the front page about the meetup. I think I'm going to mosey us on over and introduce ourselves to the DU'ers who show up. I've hurt my foot, so I'm going to try standing or sitting at the spot where the marchers will end their trek and chill (hopefully) listening to the after-events (if any) while folks march.

Blessings to all of us who make it there in person and in spirit. Thanks to everyone for their commitment to peace and justice in Iraq and everywhere else. I'm looking forward to an emotional day and having our marchers make an impact which will be heard around the nation and around the globe. See ya'll there.

2. Can't wait to read what your take will be on this history making day
Thank you for being there all these years, for some of us like me it is impossible to make the trek to be a participitant so we must depend on our friends who can, will and do. Like I said I will be looking forward to reading what you have to say.

Never forget it was the Protester's who stopped the Vietnam War not us Troops there

4. It's normally a very emotional experience for me, madokie
I'll be looking though, now that you've prodded me, for something to relate. It's very hard, though, to describe the emptiness I feel afterwards. I should feel full, but I always end up feeling drained. Maybe thinking of the day as an essay will buck me up.

I do recognize the importance of the protesters, but I can't ignore the effect of our soldier's lost lives on American's tolerance of war. That's why I began my opposition to the invasion with the soldiers, and why I've kept them at the front of my debate throughout the occupation, and in my prayers.
