8. i am so with you!
we have three little girls and we live in a modest house with the girls sharing a room...because we could AFFORD it! I should have just gone out and bought a HUGE McMansion for $700K and then gotten gov't to help me out...

yes, there are some people in trouble with their home mortgages and THEY should be getting the help...not the corporations that allowed all this to happen!!!!!!!!!!

2. The thing that irks me so much it's important to save Wall Street
But not so important to save people with no health care. The priorities in this country are all screwed up.

7. Again, we can't afford universal healthcare...
We can't afford free access to higher education...
We can't afford to extend unemployment benefits...
We can't afford to adequately fund our public schools...
We can't afford so called "entitlement" programs...

B U T

We can afford trillion dollar bailouts of the wealthy (who, by the way are completely and exclusively responsible for this debacle)
We can afford trillion dollar wars.

Somebody is getting screwed here folks.

And when do the wealthy shitheels who created this financial meltdown go to prison? Never. Instead, they will continue living on their lives of luxury while the rest of us are forced to sacrifice even more to shore up their fucked up system.

I still say let the whole system collapse as a final indictment of "unregulated markets."

14. Why not
allow those people to refinance to fixed rate and those who use this mechanism lose their home exemption for that house?

3. You mean the houses that the people who took out the bad loans would never have been able to buy...
...in the first place had there been some kind of regulation over the lending industry and the secondary market?

Or are you referring to houses owned by those of us who at least up until now have been able to make the payments, but may lose our jobs or get taxed into financial ruin by the bailout?

6. Only the people who can't remember how many houses they have
get to keep theirs. That way, if they accidentally lose one, they have somewhere else to go. But, if you own only one home that's just too bad. If you lose your home, you are a whiner. Besides, we all know the whiners should've picked up a couple extra houses back when they were so cheap.

:sarcasm:

Yup. The "people" get to buy the BAD debts ... so the fat cats with their multi-million dollar salaries & bonuses can keep shoveling the shit.
