Poll question: Was it a mistake for Dems to abandon their position with respect to Iran and war authorization?
I've been hearing a lot lately about a clause in the next military spending bill that would force Bush to come to Capitol Hill to seek authorization for bombing the hell out of Iran, but due to backroom dealing and probably a good amount a lobbying, that clause was eventually stripped from the bill. Many who argued for the clause's removal said that it would put Israel and the US in greater danger by tying the hands of the president and that the clause's removal would give the US a free hand in dealing with the Iranian threat.

Was it a bad idea to drop the clause from the spending bill?

1. Absolutely "YES"
This was the same game they played with the Iraqi situation and it is being repeated again - to the detriment of the world at large.

4. Democrats should not willfully participate in the crimes of this administration.
If they do, they will also be held accountable. Apparently, this is their desire.

5. I may be calling it too soon, but I'm surprised at the lopsidedness of the poll
There seems to be no middle ground on the issue, and those who did vote no or strong no were very few in number. I figured there would've been middle votes who are unsure, but this is turning into a landslide.

6. I can't believe they just abandoned their congressional duties and authority
like this, especially now, after the lessons learned in Iraq, just to appease a special interest group. Truly, we the people have no representation in Congress anymore.
