When will Corporate-America's "money grab" end?
(Why the hyphen in "Corporate-America"? Because today the two are so closely entwined that they are essentially one and the same.)
Under the Bush/Cheney/Reagan/McCain/Republican/Neo-Con/GOP regime America has slipped precariously close to a purely facist nation. The laws are now written by Corporate-America, elections outcomes are manipulated by their minions, and their apologists in the Republican party have been holding open our front doors for years, while Corporate-America loots our homes.
Corporate-America is stealing our pensions, because the Dow Jones hasn't gone up a single nickle in the entire 7 1/2 years of the Bush administration. Who took that 10% annual return on our 401K accounts upon which we could normally rely? Corporate-America, that's who. They're enjoying record profits, but for some reason their stock prices have dropped, slashing our retirement savings accounts. ...ever since Bush took office.
The retail industry is stealing our national wealth, as they and their leaders at Walmart have sent a huge percentage of America's manufacturing jobs to China. Gone are the days that a High School graduate could find a job that would allow him/her the ability to afford to own a home. Gone are the days that American factory workers could live comfortably and expect to fulfill 'The American Dream'.
The Health Care and Insurance Industries are ripping us off as the price of health care continues to skyrocket. Higher co-pays and reductions in coverage are now an annual fact of life for the Americans that actually have health care insurance. Meanwhile, the number of uninsured continues to climb...
The oil industry? We know all about them. Record profits every single year under the Bush administration, while we pay $4.05 for a gallon of gasoline. Oil cartel? We don't have to look overseas to find an oil cartel. The oil cartel right here in America does just as much to hurt us as the Arabs and Russians do. After all, Texas and Alaska aren't charging us any less for oil than Saudi Arabia is. Why was Exxon able to remain profitable while charging $30 for a barrel of oil a few years ago, but they just can't seem to make ends meet on anything less than $110 for a barrel these days? Greed? Theft?
The banking industry? Don't they rip us off when they pay 0.5% interest on our savings accounts, while charging us 8% for personal loans? Isn't it evidence that they are ripping us off when mortgage rates double overnight? When home foreclosures reach levels not seen since Hoover was ridden out of town?
What has brought about Corporate-America's pillaging of America? What has triggered their feeding-frenzy? Was it the "de-regulation" that Ronald Reagan forced upon us? Was it people like Dick Cheney who invited the oil industry executives into his office to write the very laws that would regulate their industry? Was it a combination of the two?
Was it all simply a result of the Republican party's machinations to turn America into a facist nation?
Will the robbery end with the Bush administration, or have they created such a monster that it will require several years to kill the beast, before America can be returned to Americans?
