Republican mayor of St. Peters throws support to Nixon

The Republican mayor of St. Peters today endorsed Democrat Jay Nixon for governor.

Mayor Len Pagano announced his support after joining Nixon on a tour of a business incubator known as the St. Charles County Economic Development Center. He said Nixon’s economic development plans were the reason for throwing his lot with a Democrat.

“We’re facing tough economic times, and many small businesses are struggling to keep their doors open,” Pagano said in a statement released by Nixon’s campaign. “The economic policies of Washington have made it too easy for big companies to ship good-paying, Missouri jobs overseas."
