Rounding out the top 10 — and making a campaign statement for fashion — was Michelle Obama, wife of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, who was given high marks for a look that was "classic and confident."

But Obama played down the notion that her sense of style might be anything close to couture, telling People: "Some of my favorite summer dresses are from Gap and H&M."





Guess spending $312,000 or so for one dress didn't get it.

2. I absolutely LOVE how Michelle dresses!

It's not stuffy (sometimes she'll dress conservatively, though), yet very classy. I especially adored the dress she wore in Springfield on the day that Biden was introduced to the public! It was white with violet flowers throughout and baring the shoulders. Very feminine, classy, and not gaudy in the least. Simple, too, which is a sign of taste.
