In 2000 the Clinton administration left a solid economy, and bush took that economy
and brought us to where we are today

After eight years we are at the crossroads again

In 2000 we had a know, Clinton/Gore

Today we are also at a known, bush/mccain

How much have we learned?

2. SOme of the seeds of what's happening now were planted then...
...in particular the nonsensical notion of houses as "investment vehicles". There are several other things Clinton could be faulted for, as we all know - after all, he left the Reagan Revolution pretty much untouched.

But unlike Reagan, he did it without borrowing and spending and actually balanced the budget, which is indeed a damn sight better than you can say for the present bunch.

If only America's republicans were like Clinton, and the democrats like Europe's social democrats, America would be MUCH more stable and prosperous, IMO.

3. Yep, Clinton is culpable in many ways....but he at least.....
.... understood the importance of keeping down debt.
