On a rightwingnut blog.. re: banking crisis...
"If we are facing a financial crisis or depression, we must make sure everyone understands this is the Fault of the Democrats. The Republicans bear No Responsibility."

I don't think even the slowest Murikan will believe that.

The only (and very cold) comfort in watching the economy go down the shitter is that the Repubs will get stuck with the blame. I lived in fear that all this banking crap would hold off until after January 20, and then President Obama would be left holding the giant bag of shit.

8. Well there is a blessing and a curse in this election.
If we win, we have to clean their mess. Which does not bode well for us in the future. America will not like the tightening belt and will look for someone to blame. Whoever is in the hot seat of the White House will take the blame. Unless, that person can successfully bill it as the other guy's (Chimpy's) problem.

If we lose, then the GOP owns this meltdown lock, stock, and barrel. They're holding the bag, the same stinky one they filled in the first place. Come 2012, there won't be much of a GOP left to mount any kind of resistance to the Democrats. Perhaps, we'll wind up with more than a two party system. Which, in the long run, is probably better anyway.

Either way, the next 4 years is gonna suck, and probably the 4 after that.

11. Read his policy statements, all 300+ pages of it, PDF and all
and was browsing a book written by an economist the other day at the bookstore

His ideas are exactly what got us out of the great depression... John Maynard keynes at its finest

A little modified, but still

4. These guys have been so willfully ignorant for so long that they can only think in terms of spin
Truth is malleable, they say.

Facts are very stubborn things, I say.

10. I read a post the other day that said the rethugs
should change their mascot to the ostrich!!!

you know, the blame game only goes so far, then it just time to roll up sleeves and get to cleanin up. Obama is about that kind of work, let's get ready to rollup our sleeves and work as a nation that cares. NO more Polarity, WE have to come together in a crisis, remember?

13. Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act
Passed 100% by Republicans. If we don't get out in front of the spin, you damn right they'll believe it's the fault of the Democratic Congress.

14. The Dems Took Control of the Congress in 2007
This banking crisis got started in Feb. 2007 when the sub-prime started to re-set. There's no way in hell that this is the fault of the Dems.
