LMAO at Galveston officials at press conference |

They make Nagin look like a genius.
She is blaming the forecasters despite the fact they've been in the cone for 4 days now. How many times do you need to say "don't focus on the fucking black line"?

5. That "is" ridiculous. Local TV here is estimating about |
|
40% of the Galveston residents haven't evacuated. Sigh. I'd be out of here if someone would only tell me to go. ;) And thanks, Bluebear.

Did she expect a year's notice?
Hell, anyone watching the news could see they were in the threat zone days ago.

12. The predictions have been adjusting the track northeast on the coast since |
|
Tuesday. It has adjusted upwards every day. She should have known it could come their way.

13. Those forecast models started moving northward days ago. |
|
This is EXACTLY the pattern for Rita, 3 years ago. Initially the models were for much further south then they started creeping further north. The forecasters predicted it too, based on some other factors affecting the hurricane. By Wednesday I knew that we in south Texas were pretty much okay but that those on the upper coast were in danger.

Talk about hubris. She is mayor of a town on an island with a hurricane bearing down on it!
