Google censorship of DU?
Fascinating. I went looking for this post of mine on Google:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x3940425

As well as a couple of others which point out that al-Qaeda's U.S. operations started in McCain's state of Arizona...and they're all completely wiped from search engine. They're still on Yahoo though.

I wonder who's making the effort to keep that particular information away from curious eyes?

2. Straight quote of the thread title
As well as my forum name, and key text like "al-Qaeda", "McCain" and "Phoenix". Nowhere to be seen in Google.

11. It's a dynamic system...I very much doubt they manually censor stuff.

6. I've noticed DU doesn't rank as high as it used to also
Used to have to avoid all the DU post in google results when searching new information in the past.

Now they don't show up until page 4

9. Here's another recent McCain terrorist thread that Google "vanished"

What shows up for it under Google search for the thread title is:
http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T4GGIH_enUS239US239&q=%22Time+to+Revive+McCain%27s+Support+for+the+Dubai+Port+Deal%22

I've been checking around, and supposedly there's no way a third party can remove a link from Google without the cooperation of the owner of the originating site (i.e., make the page unsearchable). So it would seem this is being done by Google's own staff. At their discretion, or somebody else's request? And why these threads specifically?

It will be interesting to see how long this one remains on Google.
