tonight with Gibson. SO I brought up her bumbling the Bush Doctrine and needing Gibson to tell her what it was. Then I followed it up with "and then there is her saying she would go to was with RUSSIA".

Mom: Uh, um, uh, well..I guess I missed bits and pieces of it all, I didn't hear all that. Hey, did you hear that Biden said that Obama should have picked Hillary?


(insert my head explosion here)

I start to put Biden's comments into context and tell her also about Obama saying why he picked Biden, quoting some of what Obama said this week.

Mom: Well, he had to pick someone with experience since HE doesn't have ANY.

Me: Start going thru Obama and Biden's records of experience. Throwing in Palin's non-record, ending it with "can't wait for the VP debate!!"

Mom: Well, we better change the topic I can see we have totally different views. Guess the saying about don't discuss politics or religion is true. (insert meaningless "how's the weather" type conversation here). Quickly followed by her saying: "Well I will let you go, don't wanna use up your cell phone minutes"!!

3. I know. My MIL can't think through what is going on here. I think she

sees this as a popularity contest. She identifies with McSame because her husband was also sent off to Vietnam. But he doesn't care who is elected.

Some people really don't get it that their financial positions and security will be at risk with these crazies.
