Wake up America: Palin is a Distraction
We are so deep. Hook line and sinker. Their game.

2. I dont agree ....
Palin is also a new source of citizen outrage over her statements and actions ....

She is no guilded lily, and the bloom of her rose is ready to fade ....

New faces are new opportunities for both sides ... Take advantage of your opportunities ...

10. I react to the near 24/7 Palin carpet bombing
be it media, my favorite blogs, fine forums like this, et al.

(And, under the advise of counsel, I should state that in no way do I imply anything whatsoever in my use of the term "carpet").

Is it an accident that from the RNC to now we have Palin blanket coverage (again, no pun, slur, nor hormonally-charged imagery intended)?

Hell no, working according to their plan I figure.

Otherwise, I'm most down with your sentiments.

15. If citizens aren't already outraged by seven-plus years of Bush-Cheney, then Palin is a bore.
Her antics are petty compared to the rest of the Republicans. If she is the only source of outrage, people will ignore what she has done, and by extension, ignore Bush-Cheney.

The Democrats must focus on pointing out the problems this country faces and place the blame on Republican policies implemented by Bush-Cheney and their Republican enablers in Congress. McCain is one of those who supported Bush. Palin wasn't on the national scene, so the relevant discussion of her is about her feeding at the public trough for our tax dollars, as well as her support of Bush policies.

Republican voters seem to ignore corruption and incompetence in the politicians they vote for. This won't stop them from voting for McCain-Palin.

However, point out the economic and international problems this country faces because of Bush policies, and explain Obama-Biden's plans for solving these problems, and people will focus on what is important.

9. she is definitely being used that way
although her existence brings real issues to the table, the mccain ticket is just willing to use the fact that she is a woman for a cheap distraction. probably because they don't want to talk about the scary shit she actually believes in.

11. Palin Church linked to Jesus Camp
Edited on Wed Sep-10-08 11:48 PM by Benedictine_09876
Palin Church linked to Jesus Camp

I don't have enough posts on this name to post a new thread - my old id for DU was lost in a crash - but this this needs to get out immediately.
It needs a full thread - after spending the day researching this I am scared out of my wits - like I wasn't already worried enough about this moosette.

Spread this far and wide - to all those people who will vote for her just because they think she is a 'good Christian woman':

Palins church is hell bent on gaining dominion of all of the Christian churches on earth - all the worlds governments - forming them into one church and one government and "waging war on all the earth to make way for Christs coming."

"Sarah Palin’s churches are actively involved in a resurgent movement that was declared heretical by the Assemblies of God in 1949. This is the same ‘Spiritual Warfare’ movement that was featured in the award winning movie, "Jesus Camp," which showed young children being trained to do battle for the Lord. At least three of four of Palin’s churches are involved with major organizations and leaders of this movement, which is referred to as The Third Wave of the Holy Spirit or the New Apostolic Reformation. The movement is training a young "Joel’s Army" to take dominion over the United States and the world.

"The Wasilla Assembly of God church is deeply involved with both Third Wave activities and theology. Their Master’s Commission program is part of an three year post-high school international training program with studies in prophecy, intercessory prayer, Biblical exegesis, authority and leadership. The pastor, Ed Kalnins, and Masters Commission students have traveled to South Carolina to participate in a "prophetic conference" at Morningstar Ministries, one of the major ministries of the Third Wave movement. Becky Fischer was a pastor at Morningstar prior to being featured in the movie "Jesus Camp." The head of prophecy at Morningstar, Steve Thompson, is currently scheduled to do a prophecy seminar at the Wasilla Assembly of God. Other major leaders in the movement have also traveled to Wasilla to visit and speak at the church."

"The Third Wave is a revival of the theology of the Latter Rain tent revivals of the 1950s and 1960s led by William Branham and others. It is based on the idea that in the end times there will be an outpouring of supernatural powers on a group of Christians that will take authority over the existing church and the world. The believing Christians of the world will be reorganized under the Fivefold Ministry and the church restructured under the authority of Prophets and Apostles and others anointed by God. The young generation will form "Joel’s Army" to rise up and battle evil and retake the earth for God."

"The Third Wave movement is cross-denomination and is not synonymous with any specific denomination, nor is it synonymous with Evangelical or Fundamentalist. Although the movement emerged from Pentecostalism, it draws its support from a variety of denominations and religious streams. They believe they are forming a post-denominational church to take the world for the end times."

To date, all of the writing and objections to this movement have emerged from other Evangelicals and Fundamentalists who believe the movement to be unbiblical. Also, it is other conservative churches that refuse to embrace the ‘outpouring of the Spirit’ that are targets of much of the anger of the movement."

God help us all if this woman gains more power than she already has.

This is exactly the kind of crap I'm talking about.

Glad you chose my thread where I'm suggesting that the shit sandwich is thick and runny and therefore, complete, to further pile on.

See the thing is, it's NO DOUBT all true. Sarah Palin is evil. I'm fucking sold.

But that doesn't win elections.

If there's anyone out there who doesn't yet think the republicans are full of shit after 8 years of one friggin' shit sandwich after another, then they are a TRUE BELIEVER and neither us nor Jesus can save their sorry ass.

Meanwhile all news and discussion, 8 weeks before election are turned to someone we never heard of before.

We have no issues: no war, no failing economy, no lack of healthcare, no voter disenfranchisement, no Osama, shredded constitution and burnt 4th amendment, fuck environment and the middle/working class, president is king, torture torture torture, perpetual war, perpetual war profits, happy republicans.

Anyway, thanks for furthing my vent, mr. 1 post.

Edit to add: and welcome to Du! heheh

17. She may be, but if the repugs have any chance of winning
it's this distraction that will win it for them. Face it, they're voting for Palin not McCain.
