Prescription Drugs-McCain... He'll get away with drugs for pain...hes a POW you know. But drugs for
anything that has to do with his mind will be a campaign killer.

IF its pain killers I think that will actually make some people feel sorry for him.

1. I have also heard
that he takes drugs to help him sleep--Ambien man?

but I don't know if it really bothers people.

Keep your fingers crossed that it is something much bigger than pain killers or sleep aids.

2. I'd highly doubt it's pain killer related.
I mean, it would be expected and surely there would be few who'd have a negative opinion of him taking pain killers legitimately. If it were related to his mind, at least that would give him an excuse for being such a huge fucking moron.

4. Exactly.
The dude's a wreck. Nobody will begrudge him the use of heavy-duty painkillers after what he went through. This is a story without legs.

If McCain can get endless prescriptions for "heavy-duty painkillers" and my sister can't...I want a really good explanation why no one is worrying that HE might become an addict.

9. Sure, WE will.
We're partisan. It's in our nature. I'm talking about Joe Sixpack.

No story at all here. Complete non-event.

26. Maybe it would be easier to reach Joe
If you didn't behave as if you were superior to him.

28. I'm not.
In fact I think he's probably fairer on this issue than we would be. Painkillers, even powerful ones, do not make a man unfit to lead. JFK proved that.

You weren't going to vote for him anyway... If it is painkillers though he will get away with it.

15. Of course not.
But Joe Citizen won't be bothered by this. He'll balance the painkiller use with the past experiences of McCain and the result will be a wash. People are very sympathetic to pain, especially when it's the result of what he went through.

Besides, JFK was on a slew of heavy drugs. I still think he was a great and inspirational leader.

16. my theory after thinking about the clues
I think the Batman reference is to Heath Ledger--who used anti-anxiety meds and sleeping pills.

That would also explain the pickles reference--she is also called the joker a lot.

If it is sleeping pills--we already know that -- and it hasn't been a huge problem. Maybe these are much stronger than the Ambien that we already know about?

Anti-anxiety pills--maybe--but still not nearly as juicy as Alzheimers.

Please please please let it be bigger than that--I have hung out here refreshing for hours.

22. ha lawyers have a way
of getting involved in everything!

just kidding. The Heath Ledger thing had lawyers involved--they were going to make his friends testify in court about his drug use....probably if McCain's problems were severe they imagine the same kind of thing--peeps testifying in court as to his drug use--thus lawyers...

pretty weak, but it is the best I can do

21. Sleeping pills won't matter either.
Dude was tortured for years in a freakin' POW camp, as they never tire of reminding us. I'd need help sleeping after that too. I can't stand the stupid fuck, but I sympathize with what he's been through and the inevitable nightmares resulting.

23. these were the drugs in Ledger's
system at death

oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylamine

those are chemical names--the drug names are

Vicodin (pain killer)
Restoril (sleep)
Valium and Xanex (anti-anxiety)
Unisom (anti histamines)

If McCain is using any of these drugs--
Anti-anxiety drugs might look bad for McCain, I bet he would get a pass for any of the other stuff though
