Palin Offers $150 For Every Fresh Left Wolf Leg. Why The Left Leg?

Sarah Palin is an avid supporter of aerial killing of wolves. In fact, last year Palin paid a state bounty of $150 for every fresh left leg of a wolf killed by volunteer pilots and aerial gunners in Alaska.

Not sure why it was the left leg ... maybe me just being paranoid again.

Anyway. I am really trying to end my Sarah Palin jag. Honestly. I am easing slowly off my partisan habit by getting back to Blueweeds local roots. That is, trying to show a connection to local affairs in Falls Church.

The Palin wolf killer story has local legs. That last pun, by the way, was very much intended.

See, Blueweeds co-author and longtime City resident Bob Burnett produced a Defenders of Wildlife documentary a few years ago exposing controversies about aerial wolf killing in Alaska. The film won some awards - including the Falls Church Film Festival Best Documentary. Video taken from Bob's documentary is now being "re-purposed" in political videos exposing the aerial killing and opposing Palin's vice presidential bid.

An example is below. But before we go to the videotape, let me anticipate a criticism. I am not a moonbeam Democrat opposed to guns, hunting, or killing wolves (or other furry animals). I have a few *very minor* personal flaws, but that is not one of them.

Also, out of an excess of caution and a strong sense about my sometimes impulsive dear readers, the bounty offered by Palin appears to apply ONLY to real wolves. So please do not let me hear about any Blueweeds readers sawing off the left leg of poor old Frank Wolf (R - VA).

Got the same kind of bounty around here on coyotes. They specify a certain part so people cant bring in different parts of the same animal.
