Polar bear pictures make me cry.

Those pictures of them swimming to nowhere or perched on tiny, tiny litte floes.

I think McCain and Sarah Palin are mean to polar bears. I am going to send out a mass email that says so.

2. I sometimes cry as well. I went to Churchill Canada in 1988 to see the polar bears in the wild.

I will always remember one 2 year old that was spending his first winter without his mom. He was curled up on a bed of weeds and looked so intensely lonely. I think about all the bears we saw and wonder if they've 'made it' so far.

3. Swimming to nowhere

I'll never forget an episode of "Blue Planet", IIRC, that showed these magnificent creatures and what they're up against trying to survive with the effects of global warming. Forced to swim indefinitely looking for a patch of land or ice in search of food, often drowning in the process after exhaustion sets in b/c there is no land or ice to be seen. How I cried for those majestic animals.

I'll never forget that episode and those bears.

:hug: There's some commercial for a wildlife charity that shows the poor polar bears perched on their little ice floe, staring beseechingly out at the cameras. I have to change the channel every time. McCain & Palin ARE mean to polar bears - Obama should do a commercial that says so.
