Key West radar doesn't show it moving very fast.

3. I just talked to my friend in Conch Key
He said there was no rain, but the winds were about 30 mph. All utilities are on, everything is safe. But, he said, with the Keys being in what's known as the "dirty quadrant" of the hurricane, anything can happen.

This sucker, he reminded me, could very well make a U-turn and head right for the Keys.

So, he's safe at home, but I'm still nervous for him.

6. It's a waiting game now
Waiting to see what Ike does. For now, you're all right.

But these back-to-back hurricanes are wearing everyone down.

You're not balmy. You're a Democrat.................
