Media uncritically repeat McCain claim that Obama "will raise" taxes

Summary: In reports on Sen. John McCain's acceptance speech at the RNC, several media outlets uncritically reported McCain's claim that Sen. Barack Obama "will raise" taxes, without pointing out that McCain's own chief economic adviser has reportedly said the accusation is inaccurate or that Obama has in fact proposed cutting taxes for low- and middle-income families and raising them only on households earning more than $250,000 per year.

1. The spin is that he wants to kill babies and raise taxes
where Caribou Barbie wants to raise babies and kill taxes.

Of course, that's in Opposite World.

2. It's all about them. I'm guessing most of the media pundits
repeating this meme are in the top 1%, so it's technically true for them. As for the rest of us, they don't care.

15. And they're all way overpaid!
How difficult is it to read faxes or press releases from the WH and the RNC? They're in the top 1% and their job is reading!

7. "Are these people incapable of learning?"
Not just incapable -- they're dead set against it.

They've been taught since their earliest days that virtue lies in group-think and ignorance.

They've been taught that heaven awaits those who repeat what they're told and never, never think about the situation for themselves (lest the Devil cloud their minds!)

This is what the radical clerics of America have done to us.

9. Well, most people are selfish bastards anyway.
So it plays well to people, Obama should point that out. You pay taxes in order to have services that enable you to live in a CIVILIZED society. People just don't get it, no taxes = no roads, no protection from criminals, no education, and no fire protection & rescue.

If taxes were only $1 for every family in America, some of these selfish bastards would still whine that is too much.

11. Consider how overpaid those blowdried bobbleheads all are
Obama will raise their taxes. They are horrified at the prospect, although for them the rise will be very modest, indeed.

That's the main reason he'll never get a fair shake from any of those vapid mouthpieces.
