So I applied for this job that I am totally unqualified for. If they call me for an interview I am
going to refuse to go. The people in the office seem to like me - we go hunting together or watch our kids play hockey sometimes. It's all about who you know. They totally think I would be a, "Rockstar" in the office. OMG that would be too cool. Some other joker is applying for the spot too. He's been in the same dead end job for decades. And that a-hole wasted so much time and money on grad school it makes me laugh. So what if he can beat me at Jeopardy. I'm a Wheel of Fortune kinda guy anway.

2. That's dumb
Refusing to go. Why apply if you don't want the job?

Rockstar? Sounds like you're setting yourself up to be a has-been before you even start.

So, why did you apply?

21. Probably not
That line about "If they call me for an interview, I'm going to refuse to go" made no sense. As some some of work of comedy or an inanely stretched attempt at metaphor, it fails.

I did note, though, that all the posts claiming to "get it" were posted after another DUer and I registered our confusion and the OP explained it. That's very funny.

So, it's true, huh? Dying is easy, but comedy is hard.

I basically meant that she wants to be VP, yet she refusing to see the press. In my mind, press interviews and the Sunday shows serve as a national interview with prospective candidates.

23. I see what you were aiming for,
but here's why it made no sense:

the press are not her prospective employers. That's what confused me. It went just far enough astray to confuse what you were trying to do.

Nice idea, though. You did good.

I do the same thing all the time. Usually I go to the interviews though, and I just make up crazy shit that they know I'm making up. Like telling the interviewer I'm a level 420000 mage on world of warcraft.... I mean come on, everyone knows that doesn't actually exist. Or that I was the first woman vice president....

12. There is always sexism to fall back on
If they keep asking you to come in for the interview, just claim they are being sexist.

... caring for his kids full-time. What a tool, huh? The idiot even commuted 3-4 hours during the days he has to show up at the office so he can live at home with his kids! Sheesh! Any fool can find stooges to babysit for minimum wage!!

(But NOBODY would EVER ask that of a man, would they? No. Of course not.)
