Good to be watching but cool it with the emergency warnings...

9. Tomorrow's okay
It's predicted to arrive Tuesday at the moment. It's also going through a weakening first (for how long and how much they do not know) and there are some steering currents and Hannah which may affect it. IOW, they have no idea past three days out.

11. Well, I'm in the Gulf and I'm worried...
...because the GFDL model has it skirting FL and hitting the warm Gulf. The GFDL has been dead-on thus far this season.

13. There's no reason to start worrying about Ike till Saturday
By then the computer models will start coming into agreement and we'll have a better idea of what's really going to happen. Until then, if you live anywhere along the SE coast, prepare (if you haven't already -- and really, whattaya waitin for?) as if Ike will be knocking on your door next week.

16. A CONUS landfall is looking more likely today (FLA or in the GOM)
Edited on Fri Sep-05-08 08:05 AM by loindelrio
Cat. 3 is also looking likely. A track into the Gulf would be, well, worrisome.

18. The current track has it going through the Keys
Not that Miami wouldn't get some bad wind and rain from that, but it wouldn't be as bad as a direct hit. Who knows how much the forecast track will change in the next four days.

19. It should be updated at 2PM EDT
But it changes constantly until it strikes, so it could be in Cuba by the end of the day.

20. They usually only update the storm track at 11 and 5, unless the storm is close to land.
Then they do updates at 2 and 8 also.
