3. I'm not sure.. perhaps they haven't got the funding or ok to do it yet.. |
|
But CNN hasn't been on for that long.. I don't think.. AND to tell you the truth, most of the time it doesn't look different.. Obama looked good on HD... but most of the reg. newsing doesn't look much different to me.

5. While they don't always broadcast in HD |
|
...on CNN, they certainly put a lot more info on the screen in the HD version of the channel. And when it is in HD the audio and video quality is MUCH better.
I WISH MSNBC was in HD... once you've gone HD you never wanna go back to SD ;)
While we're wishing, C-Span too!

17. It is in some places. Someone mentioned having it when I asked about it |
|
during (I think) Obama's speech.
It sucks because it's either CSPAN in crappy quality (on a 42" HDTV, regular channels do look crappy even if they're fine on a normal TV)....or deal with the idiots on CNN.

7. If you regular CNN doesn't look any different than you HD CNN I would be calling someone |
|
The difference is huge. Regular is like watching TV. HD is like looking through a window. Almost 3-dimensional.
Its really that different. Or at least its supposed to be if everything is hooked up right.

|
but they don't always show Woolfie in HD.. I wonder if KO was in HD if we'd see fire coming out of his nostrils at times..

I would have my cable/satellite company come out and find out what is up if you are paying for HD service.

14. I've seen some screen shots of CNN HD |
|
And it seems like they've gone overboard with the Chyron. Instead of smaller graphics, as allowed by the higher resolution, they cram MORE useless grahpics onto the screen.

16. We're Dish and Directv installers and tv service guys, you'd be amazed how many are wired up badly! |
|
We run into a lot that just have RG6 coax run to the 720 or 1080 tv sets! Apparently there are a lot of installers who don't know what the hell they're doing...

19. I have cable and the idiots ran cable to their box and then ran cable back out of the box to the TV |
|
The picture was gruesome. It was unwatchable. I looked on the back of the cable box for an HDMI output and there was none. Trying to sell me HD without HDMI I thought to myself? Are they nuts? I called them up and they sent the same guy back out with the correct box and an HDMI cable and everything has been wonderful ever since.
Got to watch these guys. I don't think they know what they are doing? Or they do and just act stupid?

20. Beats me. Even when the box and sets have S-vid and YPbPr they'll overlook those too. |
|
They're not up to HDMI snuff but a hell of a lot better than a channel 3/4 link! :eyes:
