Questions about the arrest of Amy Goodman and others in the press.
It's obvious who's behind it and why. Press intimidation amongst the gop is nothing new. Don't air the news just puff pieces put out by the PR staff. Cross the line and really dig for the truth and you will pay. But really, if in fact the gop has the correct agenda for our country why not be open about it? Why demand oaths of loyalty for people wanting to go to a rally? Why not stand up and take the hard questions? After all, if you speak the truth then what do you have to fear? If you have nothing to hide then throw open the doors and let the masses in.

Candidates and Alaskan sex scandals aside, this internal anger, this fear of scrutiny from others is a big reason I went from being a staunch conservative to that of being a Democrat. I started to ask myself what are they hiding? What are they afraid will happen if the truth comes out?

1. They kill them in Iraq.
And they'd do it here if they could get away with it.

6. Ngo Dinh Diem's assassination in S. Vietnam was a dry run...
... for JFK's assassination in Dallas. It only took 20 days between the two and was originally supposed to take place on the same day.

The folks who test-market violence abroad find it almost impossible to resist bringing the same techniques back home.

7. Honest to god, I've not heard of this part of the story.
Wonder why Paul Harvey never covered it? :eyes:

9. My bad.
Blame it on the lateness of the hour. Although there is arguably a consequential connection between the assassinations of Diem and Kennedy, there is absolutely no procedural similarity between the demise of the two leaders. Diem was dispatched mob hit style in the military vehicle has was taken away in from his palace.

Had things gone as planned, however, Kennedy would've between out of the picture within a day or so of Diem's death and efforts would've been made to establish a link between the two. But JFK abruptly canceled a Nov. 2 trip to Chicago, which probably bought him 20 more days on this Earth.

12. Pretty near anything is possible when you don't have a conscience
I think there's an artificial distinction made sometimes between "us" and "them" with the notion that the powerful will murder, undermine, and subvert abroad but will play fair at home. Perhaps with some patriotic or nationalistic types, this distinction is valid. But for the sociopathic corporatists who have been running amok on the world stage, the distinction is absolutely meaningless. The only real risk for them when they harm people at home is bad PR. But that's why we have the corporate media.

4. Thanks.
It just seems to me if the gop has the answers they say they have they wouldn't have to worry about losing control.

8. They Fear Public Scrutiny Because They are Not Trustworthy
Edited on Fri Sep-05-08 08:17 AM by fascisthunter
if America saw the true face of the GOP, their Political Party and agenda would cease to exist in it's present form. The GOP is a shell for the worst scoundrels this country has to offer.... all image and a game of perception with nothing good to offer for the people of this country.

11. Yes. Just like a shell corporation set up overseas to avoid taxation
the gop avoids scrutiny at all costs. Now is as bad as it's ever been because I truly believe they see their end is near. Short of voter suppression on a huge scale and Diebolding key areas they are done.
