Roseville Considers More "Cash for Grass"


ROSEVILLE, CA -- The city of Roseville is thinking about expanding its' "Cash for Grass" program.

It started in July - with residents getting $1 for every square foot of grass removed and replaced with water efficient landscape. Homeowners could earn up to $1000.

The goal is to save water by pushing alternative landscape solutions.

The city had a $30,000 budget for the program but it proved to be so popular, the money ran out.

Wednesday night, the Roseville City Council will be asked to allocate another $60,000 to the program.
