These cops at the RNC should be walking right into the convention doors and dragging out the war criminals by their tails. Instead, they turn their weapons on the people who are there to present the democracy and the constitution. There has to be something terribly wrong with their brains.

edit: I know there are lots of good cops. I guess its just always the bad ones that make the news.

3. Because the police, while not exclusively right wing..
Lean so far that way they have to use outriggers to keep from turning turtle.

Positions which give you power over others attract authoritarians like a black hole, authoritarians in the US almost exclusively have a right wing sensibility since it is the right which mostly wants to stick their nose into other people's personal business.

4. The fascist are their bosses
They are simply following orders. Many police are former career military and are used to following orders no matter what they are.
The police are not to blame

6. Conservatives accuse Liberals of 'owning the Judicial System'
I accuse the conservatives of 'owning law enforcement'

If it ever comes down to a fight for freedom in this country, who stands a better chance of winning?

Would it be Lawyers and Judges who subscribe to the Constitution or the Gestapo thugs who crush descent?

For our very survival, we need to get these Republicans out of office before they enslave us all.

9. The police enforce the rule of law, as defined by the courts.
You'd be far closer to fascism if the police were taking it into their own heads to start arresting politicians who have not been convicted of anything and whose crimes, if any, do not fall within the remit of that police force, and substituting rule of force for rule of court.

10. the post 9/11 "hard on" for first responders has inured many americans
to official misconduct and abuse of power on the part of civil authorities, including police forces.

don't just worry about cops: child welfare case workers; firemen; EMS; Office of Emergency Management types are all woven together in tight snitch blanket that enshrouds our towns and cities.
