Is she a trial balloon? Light on experience? God, I hate to have to have cartoons explained to me.

They're releasing the balloons at the convention in a festive display. The balloons, with virtually no weight, float in the air.

Palin, also having virtually no weight (light on experience and on everything else), floats with them.

Or, alternatively, it was a secret coded message from the Trilateral Commission.

Auth is my local paper's own cartoonist, so I see his stuff all the time (on local AND national issues), and find he usually packs quite a punch.
