Anti-War Protester Holding Out Flower to Police Pepper-Sprayed
This is not only repugnant but illegal. (And those with good long memories may recall
a very similar moment at the '68 convention in Chicago, when one of Daley's cops leaned
forward to spray Mace right into some protester's eyes.)

13. That's brutal. Shades of Tienamen Square.
Has our nation sunk to this level?

What does the local mayor have to say for himself?

4. Cop is a flaming coward
What kind of tiny penis cop would resort to such a horrible offense.

He should serve time for that.

6. There was no reason for it the first time. And as she was trying to walk away,
he sprayed her again. Just because he could, I guess. There is something literally wrong with a person who would do that.

21. Yeah, I guess that's the point I was dancing around.
It's depressing to see. The relationship between police and citizens, or even police and protesters, isn't necessarily love and flowers but there's no reason for such a complete loss of respect for someone else's person and well-being. It shouldn't be like that--and it's probably part of the 'training.' There's not enough citizen oversight of the police in the US. We're paying for that.

They can try to pull this shit, but ultimately they won't get away with it.

8. Every protestor should carry their own pepper spray and tazer
When unlawfully assaulted you have the right to self-defense, after all. Isn't that what the gun nuts keep telling us?

Having a hard time figuring out who's on whose side.

16. In some countries nobody has guns.
I'd be more comfortable at a protest where you know nobody's going to get shot and killed.
