What if McCain asked Palin to step aside...and she said NO!!!....

The GOP had a GREAT opportunity to generate sympathy by having Palin withdrawing her name Sunday/Monday in a tearful presser with Palin bawling about how Democrats destroyed her family by calling into question who was the mother of her child etc. etc.

But now, so many substantial questions about her and McCain's lack of vetting have been revealed, to say nothing about the announcement of Bristol's pregnancy, that such a presser would be yet another joke.

They waited too long.

Maybe, just maybe, Sarah decided to go off script....
