BREAKING: Neither Bush nor Cheney will attend the RNC.
Edited on Sun Aug-31-08 10:07 AM by LostInAnomie
Just reported on CNN. Dana Perino has made the announcement that neither Bush nor Cheney will be attending the RNC. The stated reason is that it would be wrong to celebrate while a national disaster is going on.

2. They can attend fishing trips, and cutting cake, and singing
parties, but not the RNC party? I guess it's not that important? Not enough people will be attending.

4. More like...
The RNC compared the possibilities: Do we want those two chuckleheads anywhere near us, in primetime, or would we rather something like a hurricane or a 55 gallon kit drum of Leprosy?

8. Well, the Pubs finally found a "valid reason" to keep the btds away!
It also looks like they may use it as an excuse tokeep McNut from having to speak too! Plans to be announced today about how they might alter the convention schedule. They could shorten it to one day just to take care of the necessary business.

12. After years of claiming
that is was perfectly OK for Bush to eat birthday cake, Cheney to go house shopping and Rice to go show shopping during Katrina, now they are saying that they have to focus on dealing with a disaster and it wopuld be innapropriate for them to "Celebrate".

All this time they were praying for any excuse to keep them as far away from the RNC as possible.

and I doubt if they've suddenly grown consciences. Must be that the GOP and RNC asked them to stay home?

18. "Um, sure we want you both to come; your invitations must have gotten lost in the mail"
sayeth the RNC to W/Darth. Thus the transparent face-saving "humph, we already had other plans anyways."
