If somehow McCain gets in and than God forbid he dies in office, Palin would be the President. This scares the hell out of me. I could see Hillary as the President and I would be okay. Palin scares me more than having Bush in office.

1. Uh.... Women are just as capable as being unqualified as men are....
It would be sexist to think otherwise.

6. I dunno.
I have to say that I think men have MORE experience at being unqualified.
Does that make sense?

3. How is it sexist to say *this* woman can't hack it?
The problem is she's a moron, not that she's a woman.

19. "Moron" sounds like a huge exaggeration. That's harsh.
She's an accomplished woman in her own right. Unqualified for VP? Absolutely.

I can't wait for her to start answering tough questions.

The only thing she has accomplished is sociopathy on a local scale.

...Maybe you would.

Anyway, is she brainwashed and loony? Definitely. But she isn't stupid.

Semantics aside, I think we can all agree she's a lightweight.

38. I agree. But it has to do with Palin and her qualifications, not with the fact that she is a woman
Even Dan Quayle was more qualified than Palin is. At least he had been in congress so he had some experience at a national level. Palin didn't even know what the job description entailed.

10. That's not sexist.
What is sexist is for a man to put an unqualified woman in a position of power because it might help his campaign. There were many more qualified woman in the Republican Party that he could have chosen to get the Hillary Clinton supporters. I think he picked this one because he liked her hooters.

13. She can't hack it, and that's not sexist, that's reality
Her governmental experience is quite thin, city council and mayor of small berg, then a twenty month stint as governor, that's it. Her foreign policy knowledge probably only extends to dealing with Canada. Her education background doesn't prepare her either, a bachelor's degree in journalism.

If McCain croaks in office, she isn't going to be the one running the show, it will be her handlers, the shadow government that Cheney likes to go on about. She'll simply be a figurehead. Of course I think that's all McCain will be if he gets the job. I get a real bad vibe about the man's mental state. He forgets common things, makes incredible gaffes(like offering to pass his wife around like a party favor at the Sturgis bike rally), and really doesn't seem to be the McCain of old. It reminds me a lot of Reagan in '84, forgetful, fumbling, falling asleep. It later turned out that he had alzheimer's, something that I suspected all along. McCain gives off the same kind of vibe, that he's not in control of all his mental faculties.

Thus, either way, I think we'll still be subject to the control of the shadow government.

14. Oh she is at least as competent as Kathrine Harris and look how that turned out
Perfect for the Repubs. The rest of us, not so good.

And that is why we should not underestimate her. She may be absolutely the perfect tool for what the Repubs intend to accomplish. They love to use women who have won beauty contests and have just enough ability to do what their handlers want.

27. I think he meant they wouldn't be in charge
in the sense that we now live in an oligarchy, and "others", behind the scenes, really run the show. Ten years ago I would have dismissed that thought as nonsense, but eight years of this administration and all of the flagrant outrageousness they've gotten away with leaves me much more open to radical explanations.
