Fitzgerald Bashing on ABC This Week: What The Hell?
Fareed Zacharia essentially says Fitz was acting outside the law.

George Will says it was "just an article in a newspaper" that started this whole thing and it wasn't even that important. He says: "When did it become a crime to push back a story?" (Note: not a big shocker coming from George Will)

"Libby wasn't able to defend himself, charges unanswered are charges made," says the woman panelist (not sure her name).

:wtf::wtf::wtf:

1. Fareed Zacharia needs to push himself away from the corporatists who coopted him long ago.

2. ABC looked at FOX's ratings and I think they wanted a slice of them.

'Have always been suspicious of ABC News, and now more than ever.

You're dead right on George Will. He's a fascist in a bow tie. Well, ok -- a necktie.

3. Who can trust Zacharia? TIME? George "Debategate" Will?
Not me. I think, "Not you."

They are doing their job -- obfuscating the central issue:

George W Bush and top members of his "administration" are TRAITORS.

To get back at a political opponent, they outted a CIA non-official cover agent and her entire network, critically damaging the national security of the United States.

That's why the turds on TV talk their lie points over and over.

Most important: Thnks for the heads-up, The Cleaner. The presstitutes on ABCNNBCBSFoolsNoiseNutwork deserve the same treatment as the rest of the traitors.

23. just another reason I no longer watch anything that
ABC has to offer. I sure do miss Boston Legal, though. But, everytime I hear a clip of Bill O'Reilly comparing Gibson's ABC News' ratings to Brian Williams' NBC ratings, I just want to wretch. I figure if Billo is pushing ABC, there has to be something wrong with their reporting.

4. Fareed Zacharia is an idiot. Do any of them understand the crime??
Libby LIED. That was the prosecutable offense. Not that he pushed back a story or that he committed a crime in the first place. Libby wasn't able to defend himself because 8 witnesses for the prosecution convinced the jury he was guilty of lying. Can't really defend that.

5. Agreed 100%
Aside from the fact that this was a lie about AN ENTIRE NATION GOING TO WAR

This nation has become shameful in it's complicity of the bush* regime.

there's an element of that in the attacks on Fitz and defense of Libby by them.

16. Nowhere is it mentioned that Fitz didn't ask for this job or even wanted it.
Edited on Sun Mar-11-07 10:38 AM by spanone
People in Washington cannot wrap their heads around something that is non-political. It doesn't even enter their minds.

They keep saying he wasn't convicted of the underlying crime. Fitzgerald very publicly claimed that he could not do his job(try to get to the bottom of the situation) because Libby threw sand in his eyes by LYING.

15. They brought us the war *itself*.
... No arm of the propaganda ministry shilled louder, and parroted gov't misinformation with more enthusiasm during the runup to the war than ABC .

Not a huge surprise that these talking head zombies are trashing Fitzgerald and whitewashing their collaborators.

12. Why are you watching ABC?
Edited on Sun Mar-11-07 10:33 AM by JDPriestly
The only reason anyone should watch Fox or ABC is to find out who is sponsoring their lies, publicize the names of the sponsors on DU and let the rest of us DUers decide whether we want to buy the sponsors' products or not. The more that DUers watch those channels, the bigger their audiences, the more power they have. If a tree falls in a forest and no one listens, whether or not it makes a sound makes no difference. If ABC and Fox lie, and the only people paying attention are the 30% without brains, it makes no difference.

Let's listen to our own great candidates. Let's focus on what Democrats are saying. Let's get positive about our message. Let's get our positive message out there.

I don't want to hear or read about the bad things Fox and ABC are doing any more. They are losers. They are history --- let them fade away like Bush is going to do as soon as he leaves office.

Reagan was a lousy president. How often do you hear things said about his tenure. I hear more about Kennedy and Nixon than about Reagan. Bush too will be forgotten as will his supporters. Bush has accomplished nothing during his administration -- except to get the U.S. in trouble overseas and to ruin the future of the U.S. economy.

The bush administration is crumbling, but these networks feel it is necessary to shape the story with blatant propaganda. No wonder I am always so pissed off.

Bob Schieffer was questioning if a crime had even been committed. Also he said we still don't know if Valerie Plame was covert. :grr:
Disgusting! He was complaining about special prosecutors wasting millions of dollars.
GOP must have put out a new talking points memo.

27. If outing Valerie Plame
was such a trivial thing, why did the CIA ask for the investigation? As far as Libby not being able to defend himself, he had attorneys defending him, what prevented him from testifying himself? As far as the non-crime nonsense, why was the investigation, non-stop hounding, and impeachment of Clinton seen as justice? We all heard quite a bit about the evils of perjury then, didn't we?

Those same people are now screeching about how unfair Fitz has been to "poor Libby." If I didn't know better, I'd think that the right-wingers were guilty of hypocrisy, and using a double standard when it comes to crimes committed by Democrats, and crimes committed by Republics.:sarcasm:
