Palin was an incredibly good choice . . . .
. I mean, look what the topic of conversation here is today. All Palin all the time. That after one of the most amazing events in the history of the Democratic Party. Smart move on the repukes part. Wouldn't surprise me if she withdraws from the race in a short time.

1. I think all the people who don't like it should start a thread about something else.
Please. Rather than posting yet another Palin thread about how you are sick of people talking about Palin, eh?

2. Very short lived. She was chosen for one news cycle headline.

3. I am disheartened
that, on a day when Obama's GREAT speach should take center stage, the MMM is talking only about McCain's pick.

5. They're not...
...I heard a few comments today on Obama's speech last night. I also noticed the NBC Evening News gave Obama's speech plenty of coverage.

4. If she withdraws from the race...
...because of something unsavory that emerges, any scandal or rumored problem, it will cast serious aspersion on McCain's ability to make decisions.

6. Everyone knew weeks ago that McAncient was going to choose his VP today.
It would have been the main topic of discussion both here and in the media no matter who he chose. It's news and it's important. And it will be rehashed for awhile. But in the long run the timing of this announcement will not detract in the slightest from the impact of Obama's speech or the DNC in general. I have not forgotten the speech. No one who watched that address will forget it. We need to look at the big picture.

7. The TIMING was good- even brilliant
but the fallout will be another story.

In their own shallow minds, even Republicans are shaking their heads in disbelief.

8. Today is irrelevant if the pick costs them the election.
As it very well might.

9. I for one wanted to get to know her
I'm expecting a lot of "Sarah's shit doesn't stink" emails from RWers and I wanted some facts, so talking about her was a good thing.

The pukes timed the vp announcement to steal some of Obama's thunder from his hugely successful, inspiring speech last night.

They didn't steal anything from us DU'ers nor did they expect to.

11. It was one of the few choices that kept him even remotely competative after Biden was picked.
It was smart. We'll see if it has any staying power though...
