I think I heard either an exaggeration or maybe a lie on the Palin

She said, in re the "Bridge to Nowhere" that she had turned down the funding for that project. She was elected in 2006.

Lawmakers deleted specially designated funding for that bridge and another $229 million "Don Young's Way" bridge in Nov 2005. The state got to keep the more than $400 million to use for other projects. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2005/11/17/MNGF5FPI7N1.DTL

Does any of this mean that the potentially misleading statements have already begun, or did I read the SFGate article incorrectly?
