2. It depends on who's doing the moderating...
...if it's Fox, every question will be about aurora borealis and mooseburgers.

25. Fox doesn't have any of the debates
Doesn't mean that another station won't ask her that though.

5. Yes, I'm afraid I can. Biden is verbose and gaffe-prone, Palin has a reputation as a skilled debator
Plus she's younger and more photogenic.

I don't think DU's general celebration about her selection is well thought through.

I mean, aside from being so close to Russia and all?

10. A great deal, of course.
Not having been in power herself doesn't mean she doesn't know about it, and won't have been briefed to hell and back.

As I said, she'll practice trying to make anyone who questions her look mean.

Will the average voter see it that way?

18. Really? The vice-presidency is all about foreign policy?
I'll bet that might be news to Al Gore.

Or is it just in THIS election, the vice-presidency is all about foreign policy? I'd be concerned about adopting that position.

24. But to say that, in this year's election, the VP campaign is all about foreign policy
only, in my mind, seems to accentuate the notion that Obama, the presidential candidate, doesn't have it.

9. That, and Biden has a tendency to get agitated.
If he starts getting . . . I can't think of the word I want here . . . in a debate and she keeps her cool, it could look bad for Biden.

29. Often I do, but I don't bother to post when I do.
It's quite true, I pretty much only ever post dissent.

That's not because I always disagree; it's because when someone else has said something I think is true, I don't see any need to say it again. I occasionally post thinks I think are corrolaries or consequences of another post than haven't been explored, but mostly I only bother to post when I disagree with what's being said; I don't see any value in repetition or bandwagon-jumping.

21. She has an advantage......(warning: some of you will call me sexist)
Biden can't go at her as hard as he would with say Romney or Pawlenty or Ridge because she's a woman. The media will be on minutes after calling him "mean", and no matter what he says of substance that will get the play. She nullifies any chance Biden had to slap around McSame's hand picked stooge.

23. I think she'll do ok
She'll lose yeah. But she'll Bush style lose. Meaning she'll speak to her target audience and they'll love the fundie crap she spits out. Bush lost every debate to Kerry and Rethugs could care less. Debates only sway logical voters.
