I'm not for taking everyone's gun away. If people want to hunt or keep a gun in the house, I don't care. But who the hell needs an AK47? Can't we have a system that makes you as responsible to buy and own a gun as we do to drive a car?

I am not pro-abortion. I'm pro-choice. If a woman chooses birth as her option, we should be obliged, as a nation, to provide health care, and education. Republicans are not pro-life, they are pro-birth. After that, you're on your own. That's why abortions were reduced in each of Clinton's 8 years in office, and they increased in each of Bush's 8 years. Over 70% of abortions are for economic reasons. Democrats give women more of a choice. Republicans give women none.

Republicans always declare their support for our troops in every war. But now, as they have throughout their history, they abandon them when they get home. The GI bill was passed under Democratic leadership in the 1940's, and improved in 1964, again by Democrats. Republicans create disabled veterans, Democrats care for them.

I could go on and on, workers rights, women's rights, civil rights, but now it's time for bed, since I'm one of the lucky Americans that has to get up for work, at a good union job, tomorrow morning.

and you're probably correct.

From 1990 to 2000, abortions decreased dramatically. The sited increase was for the first 4 years, and just in the 16 states analyzed. However, the overall decrease in abortions has slowed considerably under Bush 2, which still makes the point that economics is the major reason for women's decision on the matter, not any right wing nut-job antics.
