Hail, Judas!
Judas made money from his betrayal. Benedict Arnold profited from his act of treason. All those who sold classified secrets to foreign governments took their thirty pieces of silver.

So, when US corporations lay off American workers and go overseas, and apologists say that the purpose of corporations is to make money, and so they cannot be held accountable, they are saying the word betrayal has no meaning here. If betraying American workers is not treason, then the word has no worthwhile meaning any more.

At least Judas hanged himself in shame.

What is even more shameful is that we are taxed to provide the subsidies for these corporations so that they can lay us off and leave the country at our expense. This is so galling, so outrageous, we can’t even respond appropriately. This is shock and awe economics, as it is applied throughout the world by the WTO, the IMF, the coldly calculating Friedmanomics ideologues,-applied even here at home. We don’t know all those who let greed turn them against their fellow humans. We don’t know how we can possibly start to bring these depraved people to justice. We don’t know how we can keep those in power from using military force against us, our own people, as it has been used against the people of other sovereign democratic nations that tried to resist this relentless, worldwide mugging. No new president can fight this. Congress is infiltrated. Courts historically defend wealth over justice. What’s left, people?

Judas was a far, far better man than any of the supporters of this moral cesspool.
