Fresh snow on the mountains this morning
It is very early for this. Usually it is around the second week of September when we start seeing what we call "Termination Dust". About two weeks early this year...:-(

6. No I am referring to small local mountains of about 3000 feet.
Especially those overlooking Mendenhall Glacier, Mt McGuiness, Mt Baldridge, and Goat Mt. I didn't notice whether Mt Juneau had fresh snow or not but I supect it does as well.

7. I was up your way last week
Flew into the "bridge from nowhere" airport and spent a few days fishing. It rained most of the time we were there. But we did pretty well with the silvers.

8. You are in Alaska?
In the Rockies, when I lived there, we would get snow year round. July 4th seemed to be a time when you'd see snow, for some reason, light dusting though, barely any accumulation. Heck, I've seen it snow on Mauna Kea in Hawaii in June.

I know people downtown Denver right now are saying Whaaaaa? It's hotter downtown - Nights have been perfect for sleeping, haven't to run the swamp cooler much. The Farmer Almanac said to expect cooler temps this fall/winter.

9. And you guys could have snow in a week or two, right?
I spent a summer in the mountains outside of Denver, and we left the first week of September. The next week, it snowed where we'd lived.
