Willie Giest: Bloggers, are cheetoh-munching,
Star Wars action figure-owning, basement-dwelling creatures that are alergic to light.

1. Wille Giest is the most pathetic, mediocre, useless poser in all of the media,
and that is saying a lot

Edited on Wed Aug-27-08 09:01 AM by C_U_L8R
A third string failed comic who's only role in life is to make that sleazoid Scarborough look good.
What a hack. Hey Willie.. go get your shinebox.

3. So He's Met Some Freepers? What's His Screen Name?

Ironically, a big story here in Chicago is that acidic sportswriter Jay Mariotti just quit the Sun-Times. The reason? He sees the dead tree media dying...how the news business is moving to the internet (as is broadcasting). Just consider this another symptom of the 5 stages of denial that has seen the corporate media's power shrink in the past decade and made those "cheetoh munchers" the go-to source for news...the job goons like Geist wouldn't know if it came and bit him on his right wing ass.

4. And Willie Giest is a tool. They only reason he has a job is because
of Tucker Carlson, what happened to him by the way? Oh yeah MSNBC shit canned him like they will Giest as soon as his contract runs out.

5. Where the hell did he come from anyway?
Have you run across a less-talented, more useless television "personality" (I use that term very loosely) - ever?

Even Ed McMahon had his use.

And he's going around calling other people losers?

6. that show has the biggest obsession with bloggers being cheeto eaters
yet, the bloggers from Politico (and even Mark Halperin, even though he is a pundit, is really just trying to be the new Drudge report and be a shit stirrer) are just FANTASTIC.

7. Giest actually looks good next to Russert's kid.
If they send Russert's kad back to school, Geist will go back to being the most useless dumbfuck on MSNBC. Right now, he is merely the second most useless dumbfuck on MSNBC.

8. there certainly are a lot of hosts on MSNBC with famous moms/dads if you think about it.
Not that that should disqualify you from a job if you are really talented, but it's usually the people who are the opposite of talented that seem to be the legacy cases.

19. Actually, Geist comes from a media family, too. I remember
a Geist doing Winter Olympics, probably '84 & '88. Same last name, quite a resemblance. It must have been a dad or uncle. I thought of it the first time I saw the name on MSNBC.

9. Did you just see on MSNBC....
...that one of their talking heads (can't remember his name) went around
the blogger tent and asked all of them if they ate Cheetos, owned Star-wars-action-figures, and
lived in their mother's basement.

Of course they found some bloggers who answered 'yes' to some of these questions.

They were pretty much making fun of bloggers.

"First they call you 'Cheeto-munching, Star-Wars-Action-Figure-Owning, basement-dwelling creatures', then..."

14. Yes, I saw it. That's what prompted the OP. It's as if they think that
just because they are sanctioned by a major mainstream media outlet that they are the "official" penners of our discourse and anyone less than them is treading on their turf.

In fact, they are seeing that there are indeed people out in the ether who are intelligent, thoughtful, and opinionated. There are hundreds of educated and degreed persons to everyone of their corporate-whore transcriptionists.

The thing these idiots hate about bloggers is that bloggers get to write the TRUTH.

17. If a talking head walks around asking bloggers questions like
that, the response from the blogger should be "I'm doing your job. I'm getting the facts and posting them". Talking heads make me sick. Tell me where to send the Cheetos, I love bloggers..
